Furniture Care Guide

You have just purchased a finely crafted handmade piece of furniture and in order to showcase its beauty in the many years ahead, it needs to be cared for and treated correctly. Please take note of these simple care instructions.

  1. Caring for your furniture is simple. Regularly dusting the furniture with clean, soft, lint-free cloth is sufficient. If needed use a slightly dampened cloth to clean the surface and then dry the surface with a clean cloth.
  2. Avoid spillage of any kind, especially alcohol based products such as nail polish, ink, perfume, etc. In case of any spillage dry immediately and polish the surface.
  3. The high quality lacquer finish is designed to withstand reasonable amount of heat. However, it is advised to use mats and coasters when possible, especially when placing over heated serving dishes, plates, cups or cooking utensils as they will damage the lacquer and timber underneath.
  4. Maintain your furniture with a recognised polish or wax. Ensure that correct procedures are followed, as set out by the polish or wax manufacturers.
  5. All furniture pieces are manufactured from natural timber and associated veneers. Therefore with the changing climate and seasons the timber will open and close slightly. This is a natural timber movement.
  6. Avoid placing your furniture pieces in direct sunlight, in air-conditioned or central heated rooms, fireplaces, or in excessive climate areas as this will result in unnatural drying of the timber. Note: your furniture is not designed for commercial or outdoor purposes and requires a minimum of 8% moisture content.
  7. Avoid constantly covering furniture pieces with table cloth or other cloth as timber also need oxygen and air.
